Hey guys-
First off, I want to start with a massive THANK YOU to everyone here. Y'all have stuck it out through an incredibly boring, dull, and anti-activity time and we only need to replace one owner despite several months of no baseball really derailing any momentum we had after a busy and league-altering offseason. I hope everyone and your families are safe, happy, healthy, and keeping busy during the pandemic
Now, onto the nitty gritty. Baseball is BACK in less than a month. MLB says they will be starting on July 23rd or 24th with a showcase game - Nationals vs Yankees. From there, teams will play 60 games against teams in their division and in the opposite league's same division. I'm sure you all know this by now. So without further ado, here are our plans for how the 2020 MCD Season will go
Some additional notes:
1. In the event that two of the three teams tie in the first round of the playoffs, the tiebreaker will be to eliminate the third team and then recount the stats from the matchup as head-to-head between the two tied teams. If they remain tied, then their regular season stats will be compared as if it was a two team roto league or a season long head-to-head matchup. If they still remain tied, whichever team had more of an individual stat in that matchup will move on. This stat will be determined at the time of the tiebreaker, if necessary, using a random number generator to give a number 1-14 with each number corresponding to a stat in the order Fantrax lists them on the scoreboard. This process will continue using a new stat each time if ties remain until one winner is chosen.
2. In the event that the World Series is tied, the regular season stats will be compared as per above. If the tie remains, follow the random number generation of choosing a stat as detailed above.
3. Quality Appearance (QA) occurs when: 1.1-2.1 IP with 0 ER; or 2.2-5.0 IP and 0-1 ER; or 5.1-7.2 IP and 0-2 ER; or 8.0+ IP and 0-3 ER
*****************************************************
That's all I have to say for now. Any questions or comments, please leave them down below. I spent time figuring this out and I just wanted a way to encapsulate what we have all worked towards in building our teams without making the season a shell of itself because of how short it is. Also note that these changes are all temporary, however you'll notice that some of them are based on suggestions made to improve the league going forward and if they work well, they will absolutely be implemented as seasons move back to normal
Thanks again everyone and please wear your fucking masks!

So without further ado, here are our plans for how the 2020 MCD Season will go
- The regular season will be divisional rotisserie scoring. This means you will compete in classic roto against the other four teams in your division. So, you get 5 points for winning a category, 4 points for second, etc. This scoring will conclude two weeks before the end of the MLB regular season to make way for....
- The playoffs! These will be much more familiar to past MCD seasons with a slight twist. Rather than have a wild card team, instead only the six division winners will make the playoffs. Round One of the playoffs will be two separate head-to-head-to-head categories matchups for each league - just like we normally have except three teams instead of two. The winners of these two matchups will face in the World Series
- We will be using Quality Appearance (QA) instead of Quality Start (QS) because pitchers are not well stretched out and QS will be difficult to attain at any point in this shortened season
- Regular season rosters will be selected and treated much like playoff rosters. Before the season begins, each team must select and lock in 40 players from their MLB, Reserve, and Minors rosters to be eligible for play in the 2020 MCD season. These 40 players will live on your Fantrax roster all season long and can be subbed in and out of the lineup at the owner's discretion. There are three ways in which this roster can be changed:
- A player on the roster is placed on the DL. At that point, any player in your organization but not on the 40-man may replace him
- Your team makes a trade. At that point, any player you just acquired can replace any player on the 40-man, even if you only traded picks/cash/players not on the 40-man
- Your team makes a free agent signing or waiver claim. At that point, the player you just acquired can replace any player on the 40-man
