Hi all-
This season, with the way MLB had the "Opening Series" in Japan and a few other weird opening week things, we had a very long first week of the season which meant that we needed to make a full matchup week out of the 3 days following the All-Star break so we could get to 21 matchups. For next season, I'd like to know how the league would feel about a change or if this idea is popular. The options are as follows:
Option 1 - Stay the same:
Nothing fancy here, just a standard seven day matchup before the All-Star week followed by the three day matchup after the break. This is exactly what we did this year.
Option 2 - Two five day weeks:
This option entails splitting the 10 total game days around the All-Star break into two even weeks. Monday through Friday before the break would be its own week while Saturday and Sunday before the break plus Friday through Sunday after the break would also be its own week. The other variant of this is taking Friday after the break through Tuesday and making that a matchup while Wednesday through Sunday is its own matchup. This is all after the break as opposed to around it, however there is no big gap in the middle of a matchup (if that even matters?). Either way, if you like this concept, vote for this option and we can decide which weeks to split up later.
Option 3 - One period, two matchups:
The final option would be to make the week before the break and the weekend after into one big 10 day period where each team is playing a doubleheader. Unfortunately, because each division has five teams, you can't play the same team twice in the same week. So, each team would have two matchups against two different teams. This is something that Fantrax allows us to do.
Please vote on which you prefer, and if you have a different idea you like better, leave it below!
