Here are the playoff races as we approach the end of the regular season:
AL East:
Tampa Bay - vs Baltimore, vs New York
New York - vs Seattle, vs Tampa Bay
This one should come down exactly to the wire. Baltimore and Seattle are roughly equal quality opponents, with New York maybe having the slight advantage. If he can gain 2-3 cats this week, it will set up a must-see matchup in Week 21 with a playoff spot on the line, where anything can happen. This race will be very fun down to the wire with two high quality GMs looking to secure a division title. The Yankees have never made the playoffs in MCD history while the Rays have one division title under their belt. Second year Mariners GM (Beamer) and first year Rays GM (Terry) are making it a fun race all the way to the end.
Tampa Bay key player - Blake Snell
New York key player - Lucas Giolito

NL East:
Washington - vs Houston, vs Milwaukee
Miami - vs San Francisco, vs New York
The two time defending champion Nationals have put together another amazing season, led by Jose Ramirez's certain MVP campaign, but they find themselves in a bit of a division race as the season nears its end. Miami has two medium level games while Washington finds itself with one hard matchup and one easy one. If Miami can go on a run and Washington struggles against Houston and disappoints against Milwaukee, we could see a shocker in the NL East. But, in all likelihood, Washington will reign supreme over the division for the third year in a row. As great as @alex has been for what seems like forever, I would never count out Marlins GM (Jeremy) .
Washington key player - Zack Wheeler
Miami key player - Wil Myers

NL West:
Colorado - vs Los Angeles, vs Atlanta
Arizona - vs Chicago, vs San Diego
The three time defending division champs find themselves down by 6 games as the season nears its end. The Rockies, a franchise which has made the playoffs in MCD once as a wild card but never won the division, will need to stave off one of the most storied franchises in MCD history to secure that elusive first division title. Each team has matchups against low quality opponents, so whoever can pull out the bigger combo of weeks will surely prevail here. With roughly even schedules between the two teams, I'd say Colorado has a great shot at taking down the giant at the top of the NL West. Veteran Diamondbacks GM (Jason) and newcomer Rockies GM (Micah) both deserve praise for the teams they put on the field this year.
Colorado key player - Adam Eaton
Arizona key player - Mike Trout (get healthy!)

NL Wild Card:
Arizona - vs Chicago, vs San Diego
Houston - vs Washington, vs Los Angeles
Miami - vs San Francisco, vs New York
The NL Wild Card battle may be the most fun out of any this year. Three of MCD's longest tenured GMs battle it out to try and get to that one week matchup before facing St. Louis in the NLDS. The Astros have the toughest road by far, with a matchup against Washington and slugger Edwin Encarnacion on the DL. This, too, will certainly come down to the wire, but I'd expect to see Arizona and Miami face off in the first round of the playoffs, however I'm sure @jh1997 will have something to say about that.
Houston key player - Jose Altuve (finally healthy!)
Good luck to all of these teams, and I look forward to this year's playoffs!!
