Alright everyone, with 10 days until the draft I have decided to start a mock draft for the first round. I will continue to add teams to this as the week goes on, but for now here are the Top Ten in the Milam Mock Draft!
CWS: 1 CASEY MIZE RHP- Consensus number 1 pick in real life, and I do not see Chicago deviating away from that in the midst of their build.
HOU: NICK MADRIGAL 2B- Probably the best pure hitter in the draft, should go earl as long as Jeff doesn't care that the kid is short.
HOU: JONATHAN INDIA 3B- Killer bat and killer glove, could go second overall but either way I see Madrigal and India in the Astros farm.
SFG: MATTHEW LIBERATORE LHP- Best left handed arm IMO and I think that the Giants scoop him up a 4th overall.
BOS: CARTER STEWART RHP- It's said that he has the best curve in the draft. I think that Boston grabs the youngster in order to bolster their staff of the future.
HOU: TRAVIS SWAGGERTY OF- My second favorite name in the draft and a guy with the tools that can succeed at hitting at the next level.
CIN: SHANE MCCLANAHAN LHP- McClanahan goes here since he will be the best pitcher left and the Reds can use pitching. McClanahan is a beast on the hill and go could go earlier, but I sleep easy in Cincinnati knowing one of the top three pitchers will end up in my farm.
TBR: ALEC BOHM 3B- I think Boehm is a solid player for a team that would need a position player. Cue up Tampa, missing out on India hurts but with Boehm on the backburner they can get a 3B of the future.
ATL: JARRED KELENIC OF- Solid OF that I think will make a good pick for Atlanta early in the first round.
CLE: CONNOR SCOTT OF- Simple, Cleveland doesn't need pitching but they do need OF, I think they reach for Scott as a need instead of the best available players.
There y'all have it, my projected top 10. More predictions will be added leading up to draft day!
